Answers to the most common questions from new and returning players.
Is it free to play?
Yes, completely free. All prizes and winnings in the app are virtual and symbolic — there is no real money involved. It is purely for competition and bragging rights.
Do I need to watch Formula 1 to play?
It helps a lot. Knowing the drivers, teams, current form, and upcoming circuits will make your predictions sharper. That said, anyone can join and get lucky — upsets happen every season.
What is the difference between a public and private league?
Public leagues are open to every player on the platform — anyone can join and compete. Private leagues require a unique join code and are typically used by friend groups, offices, or families who want a closed competition. As a private league manager you control who gets the code.
Can I be in more than one league at the same time?
Yes. You can join multiple leagues and your predictions are shared across all of them. However, standings, points, and prizes are tracked separately within each league, so you could be in first place in one and last in another simultaneously.
How do I join a private league?
Go to the Leagues page and enter the join code provided by your league manager, then click to join. The code is case-sensitive.
Can I join a league mid-season?
Yes — you can join at any point in the season. You will be able to make predictions for all upcoming races. You will not receive points for races that already happened before you joined, but you can still compete for future prizes and climb the leaderboard from that point forward.
How are league prizes determined?
Prize amounts are set by the league manager when the league is created. Each league can have its own values for the weekly race prize, the Crash/DNF prize, the Fastest Lap prize, the Drivers Championship prize, and the Constructors Championship prize. Public leagues may have different prize values than private ones.
When is the deadline to submit my race prediction?
The deadline for every race is the start of Qualifying. Once Qualifying begins your prediction is locked for that entire weekend. Check your Dashboard — the next race card shows the exact Qualifying date and time in your local timezone.
Can I change my prediction after submitting it?
Yes. You can edit your race prediction as many times as you like right up until the Qualifying deadline. After that it is locked and cannot be changed.
What happens if I forget to submit a prediction?
No prediction means no points for that race. There are no default picks and nothing is auto-submitted on your behalf. Missing a race just means zero points for that weekend — you can still jump back in for the next one.
Do I have to pick a Crash/DNF driver and Fastest Lap driver?
No, both are entirely optional bonus picks. You can submit a valid race prediction with just your top 10 order. The bonus picks only matter if you want to compete for those specific prizes.
How many drivers do I have to pick for the top 10?
Exactly 10. You must select and order all 10 drivers before the submission button becomes active. Partial predictions cannot be saved.
How exactly are race points calculated?
For each driver you predicted in the top 10 who actually finishes in the top 10, you earn F1 championship points — but with a penalty for being wrong. Your score uses the worse of the two positions: your predicted position or their actual finish, whichever is lower on the grid.
Example: you predicted a driver 2nd, they finish 1st — you score 18 points (2nd place points, since 2nd is worse than 1st). You predicted someone 1st, they finish 4th — you score 12 points (4th place points). See the How to Play page for the full points table and more examples.
What if a driver I predicted does not finish in the top 10?
You earn 0 points for that driver. Only drivers who actually finish inside the top 10 generate any score for you, regardless of how high you predicted them.
What if I did not include the race winner in my top 10?
You earn 0 points for them. Points are only calculated for drivers you actually included in your 10 picks. Leaving someone out is a miss, no matter how well they do.
What does it mean to "win" the weekly prize?
The player with the highest race prediction score for that weekend wins the weekly prize in their league. If two or more players finish tied on points, the prize splits equally between all tied players.
When are results and points finalized after a race?
Results are updated usually within a few hours after the official FIA race results are confirmed post-race.
What happens if a race is cancelled?
If a race is officially cancelled by the FIA, no points are awarded for that weekend and all predictions for that event are voided. It is treated as if the race never took place for scoring purposes.
When can I make season predictions?
Season predictions are only available before the first race of the season — specifically, before that first race's Qualifying session begins. After Qualifying starts, the window closes permanently for the rest of the season.
What if I miss the season prediction window?
You can still play and win through weekly race predictions for the entire season. You will not be eligible for the Drivers Championship or Constructors Championship prizes, but you can still compete for weekly prizes and climb the overall Races leaderboard.
How are season predictions scored?
Season predictions are scored after all races are complete and final championship standings are published. The same scoring algorithm applies: for each driver or team you predicted, you earn points based on the worse of your predicted position vs. their actual championship position.
Do all 20 drivers count toward my Drivers Championship score?
No — only drivers who finish in the top 10 of the actual championship standings generate points. Even though you predict all 20 in order, only predictions matching real top-10 finishers produce a score.
